How to Get Listed on HomeLearn — Step by Step Guide for Teachers
A complete walkthrough for teachers to get listed on HomeLearn — from registration to verification to your first student enquiry.
HomeLearn is a marketplace that connects homeschooling parents with qualified teachers across India. Parents come to the platform looking for teachers who can teach their children — either online or in-person — for specific subjects, boards, and grade levels. When you get listed on HomeLearn, your profile becomes discoverable to thousands of parents actively searching for homeschool educators. You set your own fees, create your own batches, and manage your own schedule. HomeLearn handles discovery, payments, and communication tools.
Who can join HomeLearn?
Any teacher based in India can apply. You do not need to be affiliated with a school or institute. Individual tutors, retired teachers, subject specialists, and homeschool educators are all welcome. You need a valid government ID and at least one qualification document (degree certificate, B.Ed, or equivalent). Teaching experience is mandatory — you need to submit a qualification certificate and experience document.
- –Individual teachers — freelance tutors, home tutors, online educators
- –Subject specialists — music, art, coding, languages, competitive exam coaches
- –Retired school teachers looking for flexible homeschool work
Step-by-step: Getting listed
Step 1: Register your account
Go to homelearn.co.in and click Sign Up. Enter your email and create a password. You will receive a verification email — click the link to confirm your account. Once verified, you will be asked to select your role. Choose 'Teacher' to proceed to the teacher onboarding flow.
Step 2: Complete your profile
The onboarding form asks for your personal details, teaching experience, subjects you teach, grade levels, boards (CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, State boards), languages, and your preferred teaching mode (online, in-person, or both). Fill this out completely — incomplete profiles are not sent for verification. Add a clear profile photo. Parents are far more likely to enquire with teachers who have a real photo.
Step 3: Upload documents
Upload your highest qualification certificate and a government-issued ID (Aadhaar, PAN, or passport). These are used for identity verification only and are not shown to parents. If you have a B.Ed or any teaching certification, upload that too — it strengthens your profile.
Step 4: Submit for verification
Once your profile is complete and documents are uploaded, submit your profile for review. The HomeLearn team manually verifies every teacher. This typically takes 24–48 hours. You will receive an email and in-app notification when your profile is approved.
Step 5: Go live
Once verified, your profile is live on the platform. Parents can now find you through search and filters. Create your first batch — set the subject, grade, schedule, batch size, and monthly fee. Your batch listing appears on your profile and in search results. Parents can enrol their children directly.
What makes a good profile
Parents browse dozens of teacher profiles. The ones that get enquiries share a few traits:
- –Clear, professional profile photo — not a logo, not a group photo
- –Specific subjects and grades listed — 'Maths for Class 8–10 CBSE' beats 'All subjects'
- –Teaching experience mentioned with years and context
- –Bio that speaks directly to parents — what you teach, how you teach, what results you deliver
- –At least one active batch with clear schedule and pricing
Avoid generic descriptions. Parents want to know exactly what you offer and whether it fits their child. Be specific.
What happens after verification
Your profile appears in search results when parents filter by your subjects, grades, board, location, or teaching mode. Parents can view your full profile, see your batches, check your schedule, and read reviews from other parents. When they enrol, you get notified instantly. You manage everything — attendance, classes, fees, assignments — from your teacher dashboard.
HomeLearn also handles fee collection through Razorpay. Parents pay online, and you receive payouts directly to your bank account. No chasing payments. No cash management headaches.
How parents find you
Parents search by subject, grade, board, city, and teaching mode. They also browse teacher cards on the Discover page, filter by ratings and availability, and view detailed profiles before enrolling. The more complete and specific your profile, the higher you rank in relevant searches. Active teachers with batches, reviews, and regular classes get prioritised in results.
